Welcome Message from the Chair, Dennis Dougherty
As we reflect on the past few months, I'm thrilled to share some exciting updates from our division. First, I am immensely proud to announce that several of our esteemed faculty members have been recognized with prestigious awards including the Feynman Prize for Excellence in Teaching and the Shirley M. Malcom Prize for Excellence in Mentoring awarded to Rustem Ismagilov and Bil Clemons, respectively. Scott Cushing is the latest recipient of the Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar award, and Mikhail Shapiro recently received the Fulbright-Tocqueville Distinguished Chair Award. Please also join me in congratulating the many graduate students who received NSF GRFP awards and other fellowships.
Continuing our commitment to recruiting the next generation of scientists, we had a series of student events such as our graduate student visiting weekends and participated the undergraduate DiscoTech events with lab tours and socials with the faculty. These events serve as invaluable opportunities to showcase the dynamic learning environment and countless opportunities available within CCE.
The research highlights show the breadth of the work being done in CCE while the DEI and alumni news show our impact on the greater community outside of Caltech.
Finally, I am delighted to unveil the lineup for our upcoming events including two named lectures; the Harden McConnell Lecture and the W.N. Lacey Lectureship in Chemical Engineering. Please refer to the division calendar for further details.
