Visit Weekends
CCE welcomed prospective graduate students to a division-wide open house throughout multiple weekends. Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics visiting weekend took place February 3-6, 2024, Chemistry on February 29 - March 2, 2024 and a joint Chemistry and Chemical Engineering weekend on March 14-16, 2024. Prospectives had the opportunity to visit labs, tour the campus, engage with current graduate students and faculty, and participate in poster sessions and social events around town.
DiscoTech 2024
On April 16-19, 2024, DiscoTech returned to campus to welcome admitted undergraduate students. Across the multiple day event, students chatted with faculty, current CCE undergraduate students and saw first-hand the research happening across the division. One lucky group of admitted students had exclusive access to tour the new Resnick Sustainability Center—where their future chemistry labs are coming to life.
Meet Matt Buga
Matt joined CCE in February as an administrative assistant. Prior to this role, he was part of the Caltech Library's business and operations group. Notable projects he has worked on include the Three Minute Thesis Competition at Caltech, converting the first floor of Caltech Hall into the TechHub, and the renovation of the Beckman Museum Room. Prior to his time at Caltech, he worked in podcast advertising.
He's excited to bring his operational and administrative experience to support CCE's academic and research endeavors. Welcome to CCE, Matt!

On April, 25, 2024, the Division celebrated our team of dedicated administrative professionals with lunch at The Athenaeum. To our dedicated administrators, thank you for your hard work, meticulous attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to CCE.
