Welcome Message from the Chair, Dennis Dougherty

With the new term well underway and gathering momentum, I wanted to take a moment share some exciting updates from our division. It is with great pride that I share news of the awards and accolades earned by our dedicated graduate students and faculty members, including the 2024 National Academy of Sciences Award in Molecular Biology awarded to Shu-ou Shan. Our division has been at the forefront of groundbreaking research, and we are excited to highlight some of the research published over the last few months. To our new researchers and staff, I extend a heartfelt welcome to the CCE community, and I encourage you all to read on to learn more about a few of the individuals that have joined us in the new year. In DEI news, the division, in collaboration with DICI, held its first Day of Inclusion–an event that was successful in bringing us together to engage in dialogue on all things DEI.
