Donald G. Truhlar (PhD '70) Named 2025 Caltech Distinguished Alumni
Truhlar, a theoretical chemist, was awarded the Institute’s highest honor for seminal contributions to theoretical and computational chemistry, including the development of models and methods that have become cornerstones of the field. His work has had extraordinary impact, with more than 250,000 citations, making him one of the most influential and widely cited researchers in the world.
Truhlar is currently a Regents Professor and Distinguished University Teaching Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Minnesota.
