CCE Community Programs
Day of Inclusion 2025
On November 21, 2025, in collaboration with BOND, CCE hosted its 2nd Day of Inclusion – a division-wide event open to all members of CCE to encourage dialogue about community through workshops, discussions, and presentations. Engaging talks by Dr. Mona Minkara and Dr. Malika Jeffries-EL set the tone for the day, followed by workshops hosted by Caltech's Center for Inclusion & Diversity, Caltech Archives, Center for Teaching, Learning & Outreach, Title IX Office and others.
The event concluded with a dinner and raffle for attendees. A heartfelt thank-you to all who participated, shared their perspectives, and helped make the day such a meaningful experience. CCE is continuously dedicated to creating an environment where every member feels valued and supported.

Rising Tide
Rising Tide is a research techniques training program in which Caltech graduate students and postdoctoral scholars train visiting students—specifically those with little or no prior research experience and an interest in chemistry or biology. The program provides instruction in synthetic and analytical chemistry, computational/theoretical chemistry, and biochemistry, while also emphasizing science communication, professional development, and team-building. Participants receive a research techniques training certificate upon completion.
On August 22, 2025, an end-of-program luncheon was held at the Atheneum, where students, mentors, faculty and staff celebrated another successful Rising Tide cohort!

BOND Lab Tour Day

BOND's 5th Annual Lab Tour Day hosted students from Cal Poly Pomona, Pasadena City Collage, Fullerton College and Cerritos College – the largest group to date – for a day filled with tours of the Caltech campus and the chemistry labs of Clemons, Cushing Hadt, Robb, See, Stoltz, Voorhees and Wei groups. Visiting students also engaged with a panel of current CCE graduate students, learning more about their backgrounds, the Caltech culture and research.
